LPM - Live Performers Meeting: international meeting of live video performers, visual artists and vjs is back with a new (eighth)
edition. 



Rome 2009 edition, registered the presence of 362 artists coming
from Italy, Portugal, France, Germany, Canada, Hungary, United Kingdom,
Poland, Spain, Uruguay, Latvia, Switzerland, Netherlands, Ireland,
Sweden, Mexico, Greece, Denmark, United States, Austria, Australia,
Turkey. During the whole four days, 289 performances, workshops and
showcases, gave life to each area of the 900 square meters space of
Brancaleone, enhanced with 15 projectors and as many screens.

For the second consecutive year, the edition of LPM settles in an
exclusive location, the long-standing Brancaleone that with its
structure, perfectly fit the growing needs of a meeting, that year
after year has definetely enlarged its range of contents, artists and
audience.

LPM 2010 keeps the spirit of a meeting, which has been its main
characteristic since the first edition. It is conceived to be a place
for comparison and exchange of informations and ideas, experimentation
is one of the founding elements of its ideology. LPM is a non-profit
organization, every gained fund is invested back to support the
research and development of the live visual field.

Este Crew formado por 2 hombres sobresale por sus rápidos,  fuertes y poco convencionales secuencias de pantalla tomando imágenes; que nosotros creeriamos conocer de viejos habitos de observación, afuera de su contexto original para luego generarlas en un contexto completamente nuevo.  Lo que la musica hace en su mejor esfuerzo por expresar, es retratado aqui en collage de imagenes siempre cambiantes.

“Escracheo videos que están sincronizados con audio y esa combinación te da otro nivel de experiencia sensorial. Cuando son combinados efectivamente, pueden ser muy poderosos. Tuve que enseñarme a mi mismo a ser más que un Dj tradicional, tengo que improvisar y adptar con todo, no quiero que la gente sólo se siente  y vea los visuales, creo un fiesta experiencia y es realemnte divertido”

¿Qué es lo que hace a un Vj Set excelente?

Buena pregunta. Pienso que lo que lo hace excelente es cuando parece “uno” con la musica, y eso no sólo significa simpatía estilística con el género musical, sino que el VJ tiene que llegar adentro de la musica y realmente escuchar qué es lo que sucede y se capaz de responder, anticipandose y al mismo tiempo siguiendo. Un gran VJ set te llevará a un lugar donde la musica no puede llevarte por sí sola. Una buena mezcla visual no tiene que estar sobre el beat, sólo tiene que trabajar con la múscia, y para eso no hay reglas, un buen VJ sólo hace que suceda con sus propias hablilidades.
